18 miles of sheer hell. I wanted to quit running at mile 4 ½. Naturally, I was tired from the previous day’s ride but man! I also started my run way too late (11:30am) after dinking around all morning ... and it was already 80 degrees. And it was windy. And I was defeated. But somehow, I dug deep and found the strength to finish. It was my slowest 18 mile run of the year (3:02) but I finished it. That, in and of itself, is a huge mental victory.
